The calm and beauty of fresh snow, hemlocks and the relaxing sound of water running in the stream along a trail along with the sights and sounds the foraging birds and wildlife is a true sign that winter has arrived.
Springtime brings the radiant colors of dogwoods and other native plants. Springtime also brings the ever popular “Discovery Festival” which showcases many of the outdoor adventures and activities available in Morgan County. In addition, the annual Rugby Spring Festival of British and Appalachian Culture is held at Historic Rugby. This is a very popular activity for the region and provides one of the few opportunities to experience the Plateau as our English Gentry did.
Summertime brings adventure in the rivers streams and trails. It also brings the famous Deer Lodge 4th of July Parade and Celebration. Late summer marks the harvest and produce exhibits at the county fair along with the ever popular mud sling, demolition derby and beauty pageants.
Rounding out the year's activities is October fest, the fall colors and numerous Christmas activities including Christmas in the Mountains and the Wartburg Christmas Parade. Come Experience the entertainment and adventure that Morgan County has to offer.
