Issues civil warrants for small claims court (under $10,000), handles misdemeanors, traffic court and preliminary hearings for felonies as well as some divorces and custody cases. Also sits as Judge of the Juvenile court. The General Sessions Judge's office is on the first floor of the Courthouse. The General Sessions Judge is elected to an eight-year term.
